Chin contouring at VIVO Leeds

360° Chin Freeze Leeds

Chin Freeze applies controlled cold to a defined fold beneath the jaw; careful assessment determines whether that tissue can be treated and whether the likely change justifies the risks.

The Leeds approach

Map first, cool second, review later.

At consultation, the Leeds team checks that there is enough accessible, subcutaneous tissue for the small applicator and considers the contour from different angles. During treatment, suction and intense cold give way to numbness for many clients.

Damaged fat cells are cleared gradually after cooling, so the session cannot provide an instant or exact result. It cannot address every cause of fullness below the jaw—skin laxity, deeper anatomy and general weight change may need a different conversation.

Local, not medical

This changes neither body weight nor health.

The service is for an optional cosmetic concern. The degree and duration of any visible improvement vary.

Consent before cooling

Understand the common effects and the rare reverse response.

The Leeds screening covers cold-triggered conditions, circulation, nerve symptoms, skin health, previous treatment and medicines. Cryolipolysis should not proceed when a cold-sensitivity disorder or another relevant contraindication is present.

Temporary redness, swelling, bruising, aching, tingling or numbness are possible. Burns, lasting sensory symptoms and a temporary change in lip or tongue position have been reported with under-jaw treatment. Rarely, the fatty area enlarges and hardens two to five months later (paradoxical adipose hyperplasia) and may need surgery. Report skin injury, increasing pain, facial weakness or a firm growing bulge promptly.

Is Chin Freeze a way to lose weight?

No. Cryolipolysis targets a small, external pocket and does not produce overall weight loss or the health benefits associated with weight management.

Why is the result delayed?

The biological response to controlled cooling develops over time. The treated contour is therefore reviewed after several weeks, commonly around the 8–12-week point.

Could the treatment make the area look worse?

Yes, although uncommon. Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia causes the treated fatty tissue to become larger and firm months later; it may need surgical treatment and should be included in consent.

What sensations are normal afterwards?

Short-lived redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, tingling and numbness are recognised. Numbness can persist for weeks in some people, so ask for advice if recovery differs from the plan you were given.

Who should not have cryolipolysis?

People with certain cold-triggered blood or skin disorders, poor local circulation or other relevant conditions should not be treated. Suitability also depends on skin integrity, sensation and previous procedures.

What aftercare warning signs should I know?

Tell the clinic promptly about blistering, broken or discoloured skin, escalating pain, facial weakness, or a delayed firm enlargement. Use urgent NHS care for any breathing or swallowing problem.
